My First Window Mis-treatments!

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to visit Leigh over at Tales from Bloggeritaville for more great Thrifty Thursday finds!

This week, I was so proud to complete my very first no-sew window mis-treatments! What is a window mis-treatment, you may ask? Well, The Nester has a superb tutorial on how to create them and the story behind them, as well as other neat (cheap!) decorating ideas. Ok, here goes:

Our guest room is . . . well, blah. I adore the furniture and the floral white matelassé coverlet, but the windows were just "nekkid". Not merely unclothed, but ugly and unfinished-looking. Yuk.

BUT

After hearing about window mis-treatments, I decided to put up some cute window coverings! I found this damask fabric @ JoAnn's, and used The Nester's instructions as a guide. Instead of rolling up the fabric, I doubled it and used steam-a-seam on the short edges and along the top. Liquid Stitch was used to attach the trim. I thought they turned out pretty dang cute, and plan to go this route again next week when I put up some new window coverings in the Bean's room. (Ok, SO a teaser for next week's TT - we redid my daughter's room and it turned out just precious!) Thanks again for visiting today!

Came by way of Thrifty Thursday over at Tales from Bloggeritaville. Love The Nester, though I've never tried the mistreatments...yet. Though I am inspired by your excellent results! This is gorgeous, what an amazing pop of color. I will be trying these when I move to our new rental in a few months.

Thanks for sharing...I will be back often to see what other inspirational items you come up with!
